Living with the disease of addiction for many years, my 27 year old son came to Recovery Ranch , torn, confused and addicted wanting and needing a transformation but yet resisting it because of his addiction. Reality is he didn't have choice left, because of the negative poor choices he made, all because of his disease. He was also facing reality that he no longer had a place called home nor a family that would condone his life style choice.
In the first months of Erik entering The Ranch, he quickly decided he didn’t want to stay there, and tried to walk away on many occasions, but only to find that his Ranch Brothers were always there to throw him a lifeline and pull him back in.
The Ranch has truly transformed my son’s life, with positive empowerment, and a new start to regaining healthy living, thinking and accountability. The Ranch has instilled in my son that people with the disease can be great people that love and genuinely want to recover and lead a sober, productive and responsible life. The Ranch has shown my son to step out of his life of addiction and learn to love and respect himself and those that surround his life. The Ranch has taught him that regardless of life's ups, downs and rejections, with hard work, love and respect of himself and others he can conquer all these things in a positive sober life.
Thank you, gentlemen, my son’s Ranch Brothers for the inspiration, hope and empowerment that you have shown my son. He has been blessed with caring Ranch Brothers who challenge him and guide him. Realization is that recovery is possible and we do have a choice. And everyone must remember that hard work and respect is a priority in all our lives. I am a mother, seeing my son smile and feeling good about himself. Something I hadn't seen in years. We take one day at a time. And we know all this could not have been accomplished without Recovery Ranch.
I am so grateful to Recovery Ranch for my son's new sober life.
